Check it Out!

Ann Catherine's birthday present came more than a month early. A big kid swing set from Mommy, Daddy, Mimi, Poppy, Gammy and Gramps!!

Because it's already getting warm (and she is completely bored with her "little kid" swing set) we decided to go ahead and get it.

Here's the neat part. Her Daddy, Gramps and Daddy's friend, Mr. Kliss, put it together all by themselves (Mommy loves that part the most because it saved us $500!!)!

They started Thursday morning. It was definitely a work in progress!

They worked until 6 p.m. when I called them in for supper. Then they went right back out and worked some more. Chris turned the lights on and people from the neighborhood all stopped by. They finally stopped around 9 p.m. It was like a big party! The kids loved it!!

Friday morning, it looked like this.

Ann Catherine was itching to "help" so Gammy and I took her and Lily to the playground at Monte Sano State Park so Daddy and Gramps could finish.

We had so much fun!! We had a picnic on our blanket (always fun!).

The girls played on the playground equipment. Lily Baker LOVED the seesaw!

Next, we took at little walk and showed Gammy the mountains! Lily was hilarious. Her favorite part of the walk was bending down, picking up rocks and throwing them. I absolutely LOVE going places with Lily because she takes in every single moment and enjoys it. I wish I lived life like her all of the time.

Once we got home, we saw this!!!

Daddy and Gramps were finished! Ann Catherine was beside herself!

After their nap, they went outside and played until 9 p.m. (Yes, I let them stay up WAY past their bedtime, but do you know how exciting it is to have a new big kid swing set??!)

This morning, AC woke up at 7 a.m. She ate some pancakes, then said, "Mommy, can I go outside and play on my swing set?" I'm pretty sure she was the only kid in the neighborhood playing outside at 7:30 a.m. She sure does love her new swing set!! In fact, in her prayers last night she said, "And thank you that Daddy, Gramps and Mr. Kliss put together my new swing set." It made my heart smile.

It especially made her Daddy smile :)

Amy,
That is an awesome swingset.
Where did you find that? We had rainbow swing sets back in St. Louis, but there is not a dealer here locally. What a beautiful weekend for you all to enjoy the newest addition!

Thanks for the comments! Jennifer and Brandy, we got it at Costco. It was a great deal for the kind of swingset it is!! (As you know they can be very pricey, but I was happy with what we paid). We also saved $400 by buying it in the store instead of online. You can go to their website and check it out. Our girls love it!!

We had one of those very similar to that one. Got it for the kids' birthday which was April 3. Built it all of March basically after Joe got off work and stuff. Sarah Beth LOVED it!! Then the tornado that came through Priceville blew the whole thing away (and half the roof of our workshop). Sad... but thank goodness for insurance. LOL. Love the swingset though, for real. The girls will adore it for years to come!!
