Lights, Camera, Action!

We shot a promo with Channel 19 Tuesday for the upcoming Spirit of Hope Tree Lighting. The annual holiday event is Tuesday, December 9th at 6 p.m. at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.

I love this event. It's such a special way to honor or remember the special child (or children) in your life during the holidays.

For $20 you can dedicate a light on the Spirit of Hope tree. In return, Huntsville Hospital Foundation will send a commemorative ornament to the child or children you gave in honor of. If you give in memory of a child, an ornament will be sent to the parents of the child.

Each year, Chris and I dedicate three lights: one in memory of Melissa and two in honor of Ann Catherine and Lily. The ornaments we receive in return have become so special to us, and we hang them on our tree every year.

To dedicate a light, click here . All lights dedicated on the Hope for a Future tree will benefit the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund, which purchases critical equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.

We had fun shooting the promo. This year, the girls cooperated! (Last year Lily was quite "squirmy" and made things a little difficult.) We had lots of fun and we can't wait to see it on television.

I also wanted to post some pictures tonight of Ann Catherine and Lily's "pedicure." Ann Catherine found my nail polish and asked me to paint her toenails. As soon as Lily saw what we were doing, she sat down next to Ann Catherine, pointed at her feet and said, "Toes, mommy."

Painting their toenails is tricky. The hardest part is getting them to wait while the polish dries. But, we had lots of fun and they loved how their toenails looked. I even painted Ann Catherine's fingernails (and a couple of Lily's). This is why I love having girls :)

It was so sweet to see you 4 at the promo shoot. Your girls are adorable...especially when Ann Catherine would mouth the words "3..2..1"! I loved it!!!

And painting the finger nails...really makes me want a little girl. Good to hear that everything is going well for you and your family.
