Cupcakes with Lily

Tomorrow is Lily's 2nd birthday. I can't believe it! Seriously, I'm having a hard time with this one. It's just so hard watching your baby grow up.

Today we took cupcakes to her mother's morning out class at daycare. You'll notice she's sitting in Chris' lap in all of the pictures. Here's why. I walked in first and she got excited. Chris walked in behind me and she got ecstatic! (Yes, she's a daddy's girl).

Chris picked her up and hugged her, and then tried to get her to sit down so we could serve cupcakes to her class. She thought he was leaving and she started bawling! So, I told him to just sit down and hold her and I would take the pictures.

When the class sang to Lily, it was so sweet! Then they chowed down on their cupcakes. It was such a sweet time! I love the blue icing around her mouth. And the stain on the front of her shirt? That's not from the cupcakes. That's from the applesauce she had at lunch. :)

Earlier in the morning, I co-hosted the morning show on Lite 96.9 with John Malone. John's co-host, Bonny O'Brien, is recovering from surgery and John invited me to be on the air with him this morning.

It was a blast! I've known John for years and he is truly a class act. He has been a good friend to me and Chris and Lite 96.9 has been a great supporter of Melissa's Fund. They sponsor Swim for Melissa and John always allows me to come on and talk about anything going on with the fund. This morning, we talked about Spirit of Hope, being a stay-at-home mom and even had a fun conversation with NewsChannel 19's Greg Screws about his appearance in the upcoming "Dancing with the Stars" competition to raise money for the Heals Clinic.

Morning radio is so much fun. You can truly just be yourself and let your true personality shine through. Truth be told, it's much more fun than TV news because it's more laid back. Thanks, John, for letting me share the mic with you this morning. I had a great time!
